Befriending Services
We understand that life can sometimes be challenging, and feelings of loneliness and isolation can affect anyone. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our Befriending Services, designed to foster connections and provide support to those who may be feeling alone or in need of a friendly conversation.
What is Befriending?
Befriending is a compassionate and caring initiative aimed at combating feelings of loneliness, isolation, or the simple need for companionship. Whether you’re new to town, experiencing life changes, or simply want someone to talk to, our befriending program is here for you.
How Does Befriending Work?
Our befriending services are flexible and tailored to your unique needs for people living within a 6 mile radius of Bungay. We offer two main ways to connect:
- In-Person Visits: If you prefer face-to-face interaction, our dedicated volunteers can arrange visits to your home or a suitable location. These visits provide the opportunity to share stories, enjoy a cup of tea, or engage in activities that interest you.
- Telephone Calls: For those who prefer the comfort of their own space, our telephone befriending service allows you to have a friendly conversation from the comfort of your home. Our trained volunteers are just a phone call away, providing a listening ear and a warm heart.
Who Can Benefit from Befriending Services?
Our befriending services are open to anyone in Bungay and the surrounding areas who may be experiencing:
- Loneliness
- Isolation
- Life transitions
- The need for social interaction
- A desire for companionship
- A friendly and empathetic ear
