Help Us Stay in Bungay: Save Our Community Base

Bungay Community Support is appealing for urgent help after learning that our current premises will no longer be available. With around six months’ notice to find a new base, our Food Hall and vital outreach services face the risk of closure unless we can raise £400,000 to secure a permanent home.

Why We Need to Move

As demand across our region has grown, we have outgrown our current space—and staying where we are is no longer an option. Because there are no suitable rental properties in Bungay large enough to accommodate our operations, we have identified a building to purchase. However, we must raise the full amount to secure it and safeguard our future.

“Our charity is at risk of closure if we don’t find new premises soon.”

— Sue Collins, Chair of Trustees

The Impact on Our Community

Today, Bungay Community Support is a lifeline for hundreds of residents:

  • 80 people visit our hub each week for advice, activities, and companionship.

  • 70 households rely on our Food Hall, with 30 more currently on the waiting list.

  • Our users include young families, older residents, disabled community members, and those facing isolation.

Diane Moore, who has volunteered with us since the beginning, has seen our impact expand firsthand:

“I’ve seen it grow tremendously. It’s very important to our community. People come for food, but they stay for a coffee, meet friends, and build connections that combat loneliness.” — Diane Moore, Volunteer

How You Can Help

Without a permanent base, these vital services—from food aid to basic friendship and advice—could disappear. The need in our community is growing every day, but our future remains uncertain.
