Meet Rose: Why Bungay Community Support Must Stay

As we bring our campaign to a close, we’d like you to meet Rose—our final story highlighting why Bungay Community Support is so vital.

For Rose, the hub isn’t just a building; it’s a lifeline. When she first walked through our doors, she found far more than practical assistance—she found friendship, connection, and a true sense of belonging. Rose loves coming in to meet people and take part in activities, but for those who can’t leave home, our volunteer befriending service brings that same connection directly to them, currently supporting six people with six more waiting to be matched.

Rose is just one of hundreds relying on our services every day:

  • The Food Hall: Currently supports 70 households, with 30 more on the waiting list.

  • Warm Rooms: Welcomed 521 visits over 22 weeks last winter, offering warmth, conversation, and companionship.

Founded during the COVID lockdown, Bungay Community Support has grown into a cornerstone of our local area. Recently featured on BBC Look East, our work to tackle loneliness and provide practical relief is more urgent than ever.

We Need Your Help to Save Our Hub

We have been informed that we must leave our current premises. While a permanent building is now available to buy, we need to raise £400,000 to secure it and ensure these services aren’t lost forever.

If services like this disappeared, where would people like Rose go?
